12th Ramadan 2021
Ramadan 2021 day 12
“Joseph said to his father, ‘Father, I dreamed of eleven stars and the sun and the moon: I saw them all bow down before me, and he replied, ‘My son, tell your brothers nothing of this dream, or they may plot to harm you..’”12:4-5
It starts with a simple dream about the stars and moon, but soon Joseph is betrayed by his brothers, thrown into a well and sold into slavery in Egypt.
“The Egyptian who bought him said to his wife, ‘Look after him well! He may be useful to us, or we may adopt him as a son.’ In this way We settled Joseph in that land and later taught him how to interpret dreams: God always prevails in His purpose, though most people do not realize it.” 12:21
For a while it sounds like Joseph goes from bad to worse, being sold into slavery in a foreign land, being falsely accused and later imprisoned in jail. But Joseph never loses hope, trusting in his Lord and praying for what’s best for him.
It comes in a strange path but the king later frees him from prison, granting him a place of trust in his court. Successfully seeing the country through a downturn Joseph is finally reunited with his family in love and happiness.
We never know the path Allah has planned for us, but we can trust in his process and have faith that as long we’re putting in the effort and staying true He will open a path for us. It might not be the one we wanted or the one we predicted, but it will be the one that’s best for us insha’Allah.
